Q + A

RSVP deadline?

Please be sure to RSVP by 4th January 2026

Are children invited?

Our wedding weekend will be a child friendly weekend (should you wish to bring your little ones). If you would rather leave them with family so that you can enjoy a holiday, we understand too! Your children's names should be under yours when RSVPing so please let us know if they will be coming!

Are plus-ones invited?

We are so grateful you'll be making the journey to celebrate with us. Due to the nature of a destination wedding, we've had to keep numbers limited to our closest friends and family and are only able to invite those listed on the invitation.

Airport to fly into?

Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar Airport)

What are the passport requirements for travelling to Bali?

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned arrival date in Bali. This is a requirement for all travellers entering Indonesia. If you're planning to stay for a few extra days or explore Bali after the wedding, be sure your passport will remain valid for the entire duration of your trip.

Do I need a visa to travel to Bali?

Australian passport holders can obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) when travelling to Bali. This visa allows you to stay for up to 30 days for tourism purposes. The VOA is available at the airport upon arrival and can be extended for an additional 30 days if needed. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to arrange your visa in advance (as we usually do) you can apply online for a VOA (B1) via https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/ This visa will cost around $50 AUD. If you are travelling without children, doing your VOA in advance will allow you to skip a queue. If you have another passport, please look up visa requirements for your particular passport!

What currency do you use in Bali?

Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). A good exchange rate is anywhere above AUD 1 to IDR 10,000. Exchange rates are definitely better once you get to Bali however, you will need some cash for the taxi when you arrive. We highly recommend to only change money at reputable money changers like BMC. Always make sure to count your money after the exchanger has counted it out to you!

Travel insurance?

Please get travel insurance no matter what! We go through 1Cover and always seem to get a great deal with them.

How to get around in Bali?

Instead of "Uber" Bali use an app called "Grab" which operates the same. We personally recommend this unless you know of a driver! I'm sure you will find many of these over on Bali Facebook groups. If you are going to hire a scooter, please remember to get your international drivers licence before to avoid facing a fine!

How much to budget per day in Bali?

Bali offers something for every budget, but here's a rough guide for daily spending (excluding flights and accomodation). - BUDGET FRIENDLY: $50 - $80 AUD pp per day (simple meals, basic transport like Grab or shared taxis, casual beach bars, a few entry fees to attractions) - MID RANGE COMFORT: $80 - $150 AUD pp per day (nice cafes/restaurants, cocktails, spa treatments, private drivers, small group tours or beach clubs) - HIGH END: $150 AUD pp per day (fine dining, VIP beach clubs, private excursions, shopping and spa treatments)

How can you avoid getting sick or getting the infamous Bali belly?

Start by making sure you are taking probiotics a few weeks before. Babies and young children can get powdered ones that go in their milk/food. We also take Travelan for a few days before and then everyday while we are there. MOST IMPORTANTLY (and I don't care if its a placebo because it's worked for us) - a shot of Bickfords raspberry cordial daily whilst there. Make sure to not drink any of the tap water. Bottle water only - especially when brushing your teeth!

Where are Dec, Jess & the kids staying before the wedding?

We will be staying at the Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali in Nusa Dua from Saturday 27th June 2026 until Thursday 2nd July 2026. No obligation to stay there too but if you'd like to be near or join us, we would love to spend the days before with you! The website is linked under "accomodation".

Where are Dec, Jess & the kids staying after the wedding?

We will be staying at Villa Coco in Seminyak from Sunday 5th July 2026 until Sunday 12th July 2026. Again, there is no obligation to stay there too but if you'd like to be near us, there are many resorts nearby so we can catch up after the wedding too. The website is linked under "accomodation".
